Transit Police confirm fatality in Newton Trespasser struck

On September 16, 2016 at approximately 8:45pm Transit Police along with Newton Fire and EMS responded Newtonville Commuter Rail for a report of a person struck by a train. Transit Police personnel on scene report the following preliminary information: in the vicinity of the West Newton off ramp in Newtonville, a male approximately in his teens, while trespassing on the inbound track was struck by a MBTA Worcester branch Commuter Rail train. The male has been pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained.

Transit Police detectives and representatives from the Middlesex District Attorneys Office are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. Foul play is NOT suspected.
