Dorchester man arrested on Warrants after fare evading

On September 21, 2016 at approximately 10:30 PM Transit Police officers from the TPDs Crime Suppression Team were on patrol at the MBTAs Andrew Sq. station. While there they had their attention drawn to a male, later identified as Michael Mayo, 25, of Dorchester. Mayo gained access to the southbound platform without paying his fare. Officers approached Mayo and subsequently discovered he had several warrants in existence for his arrest issued from Dorchester District Court for Breaking & Entering a Vehicle, Larceny Over 250.00, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlicensed operation and Malicious Destruction of Property.
As the officers attempted to place Mayo into custody he attempted to flee from the officers. After a brief struggle officers were able to gain control of Mayo. Mayo was transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.

On May 23, 2016 at approximately 11:35AM Transit Police officers assigned to the North District were conducting Point of Entry Policing at the MBTAs Davis Sq., station. While there they had their attention drawn to a male, later identified as Christopher Hoffman, 30, of Boston smoking a cigarette in close proximity to several "NO SMOKING" signs. Officers approached Hoffman and subsequently discovered there were several warrants in existence for Hoffmans arrest issued by Attleboro District Court for Uttering a False Check 2 counts and Larceny Over 250.00 2 counts, Wrentham District Court for Uttering a False Check 2 counts and Larceny Over 250.00 2 counts and Milford District Court for Uttering a False Check and Larceny Over 250.00. Hoffman was transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process.
During the booking process Transit Police were notified by the Rhode Island State Police there was an extraditable warrant for Hoffman from their state. Hoffman to be additionally charged with being Fugitive from Justice.

Revere woman caught fare evading arrested on warrants

On December 7, 2016 at approximately 5:40pm Transit Police officers assigned to the Departments Crime Suppression Team were at the MBTAs Central Sq. station conducting Point of Entry Policing. While there they observed a female, later identified as Lisa Ferrarini, 46, of Revere fare evade by "piggybacking" in behind a paying customer. Officers approached for the purpose of issuing a citation and subsequently discovered there was a warrant in existence for drug violations issued from Boston Municipal Court-Central Division. Officers placed Ferrarini into custody and she transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.
During this process Ferrarini was found to be in possession of several prescription medication for which she did not have a valid prescription. Ferrarini will be charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substances.

On June 16, 2016 at approximately 7:15PM Transit Police officers assigned to the Central District were on patrol at the MBTAs Tufts Medical Center Station when their attention was drawn to a male, later identified as Anthony Binsfield, 32, of Plymouth. Binsfield was inhaling an unknown substance from a glass pipe. Officers approached Binsfield who proceeded to furnish the officers with misleading information relative to his identity. Officers eventually ascertained Binsfields true name and subsequently discovered there were several warrants in existence for his arrest issued from: Dedham District Court for Larceny, Plymouth District Court for Larceny from a Building, Credit Card Larceny and Larceny Over 250.00 (3 counts). Binsfield was placed into custody and transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.
During the booking process Binsfiled was found to be in possession of what the officers believed to be Heroin. Binsfield will be additional charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

On April 14, 2016 at approximately 5PM Transit Police Officers assigned to the Central District were at the MBTAs Chinatown Station conducting Point of Entry Policing. While there they had their attention drawn to a female, later identified as Shannon Smith, 39, of Jamaica Plain. Smith entered through the fare gates without paying. Officers approached Smith and subsequently discovered there were active warrants for Smiths Arrest issued from Salem District for Shoplifting and Trespassing.
Shortly thereafter officers observed another male, later identified as Shaun Levesque, 34, assist other passengers enter into the paid area of the station without paying. Officers approached Levesque and subsequently discovered there were active warrants for his arrest issued from Lynn District Court for Larceny Over 250.00 and Trespassing. Both Levesque and Smith were transported to Transit Police HQ for the arrest booking process.
